In Italy you can choose the type of ceremony that suits you best. We can arrange for civil, religious, symbolic, and same sex ceremonies. The appropriate paperwork is required to be filed for each; however we will provide you with a list of the requirements and file your documents accordingly. Civil

A civil service performed in Italy is legally recognized throughout the world. By law, civil weddings must be performed in a Town Hall, most of them are located in historical buildings, such as ancient palaces, villas and manors and offer a lovely setting for a wedding. The ceremony lasts about 30 minutes and is conducted in Italian by the Civil Registrar, for this reason an interpreter will be provided during the ceremony.

Religious

In Italy a Catholic wedding can only be performed in a consecrated church and it can be either a Catholic blessing ceremony (where the couple arrives already legally bound) or a Catholic wedding with civil validity automatically registered with the Italian authorities.

In Italy Catholic weddings require specific Religious Requirements to be completed several months prior to the wedding, which final approval depends only on the local Diocese.

Symbolic

A symbolic ceremony follows traditional lines but will not hold any religious or civil status. Many couples opt for this solution as it grants them complete freedom to celebrate both ceremony and reception in the same location.
